August 24 2023, today we started off by sitting and taking our binder reminders out to write the homework down. Once everyone wrote down the homework, we moved on to the blog-corrections. The blog was written by Marcus C. After Marcus read his blog, he picked his next victim which was me. I already knew that he was gonna choose me because he told me before entering class so I made sure not to unpack as much as I would in a normal day in the third period English. After Marcus picked me to write the blog for Friday, Ms. Nakada and the class went over the book School trip.
After we went over School Trip, we did the quote, question, song, and lines. Today's quote was "to build community requires vigilant awareness of the work we must do to undermine all of the socialization that leads us to perpetuate domination" by bell hooks. Then, Ms. Nakada told us that bell hooks, the writer of the quote, does not use upper case in her name. After that, we talked about the quote and what we think it means.
After, we finished talking about the quote and what it means. Then, we went over the questions part. The question today was "what do you think of school?" We talked about the pandemic and online schooling. We also discussed whether or not it had an impact on us. Shortly after that, the bell rang and off to fourth period everyone went.
